The Merklin-Gutschenritter Organ
For Sale
Two manual & pedal - 17 speaking stops
We are pleased to offer for sale a fine organ by the Merklin-Gutschenritter company of Paris, France. Merklin were competitors of Cavaille-Coll and the company continued in different guises and after a certain amount of family tension with Joseph Merklin in charge until his death. After the death of its owner the company continued under the directorship of Joseph Gutschenritter and the name changed to include his own.
The organ is available to purchase at an agreed price. The organ is to be fully restored and brought back to fine condition by Jonathan Lane & Associates Ltd. It possesses a conventional style French terraced console with usual accessories by mechanical pedal.
It is of superb quality both in terms of material and construction and once fully restored will provide the client with an outstanding instrument which will last many years. A study of the parts, the construction of the casework and mechanism has been a fascinating lesson on the differences in construction technique between English and French builders of the period.
Please contact us for further details and to discuss the possibility that this might suit your organ project.
